Can you try moving your .mozilla and/or .firefox dirs out of the way?=20

I got this on my dapper ppc.

In fact I can only run one instance of firefox. If I run 2 process at the same time, the 1st one work as expected but the 2nd waits until the 1st is closed. The "not responding" dialog comes from the 2nd process.

This is _really_ annoying.

I am getting this on a new install on feisty. On my laptop, where I played all around with apt-get back and forth to get feisty up, it has only occurred so far this morning, and not at all on my older desktop at my house which I installed with the GUI upgrade methods. But on my newest machine, which I did a complete reinstall on last night and this morning from CD, it is doing it a lot.

I believe the browser came up correctly once. I'm not sure how I killed it to make it do this.

The complete popup is:

"Close Firefox" (on the top bar)
then a question mark balloon icon and the following text:

Firefox is already running, but is not responding. To open a new window, you must first close the existing Firefox process, or restart your system.

The only other item is an OK button.

Unlike the first statement above, I first saw an entry in ps auxw that ended in "firefox-bin", but upon killing it, I tried again to bring up FF and got the same diagnostic popup.

I then tried to bring up the epiphany web browser and it doesn't respond at all.

I then try completely restarting the machine, and logging in again, but Firefox still fails in the same way.

I moved .mozilla to moved.mozilla as per a suggestion earlier in the bug, and then Firefox came up fine. I suspect what I've done is destroyed upgraded aspects in .mozilla when I restored my home directory from a backup I made before doing the clean-slate feisty install, therefore this is probably not a problem. I'll post again if I see it come back further.

So I'm still seeing the thing with Epiphany, and I'll look for or start another bug on that. The diagnostic on my laptop I relized I was mistaken about, and it differed. This should still be closed then.

My statement about epiphay above is a mistake. Meanwhile, I am not seeing the behavior anymore. Is anyone? I have both Feisty and Gutsy installs right now, and I haven't seen it.
