Comment 14 for bug 26436

I do not know if this comment will help on this issue, but I had been using an application called newton desktop wiki on Breezy (http://newton.sourceforge.net/), which does not work on Dapper anymore. Neither using the .deb package provided from the home page nor compiling the latest svn code fixes the problem (the code compiles fine, the app always crashes on startup).

Having had a look at the newton user's mailing lists, this bug was pointed out to be the cause of the problem (newton apparently uses gtkembedmoz).

I just thought I'd point this out since:

a) maybe this app can be used as a test case for debuggging?

b) someone on the mentioned user's list reported that he was not having this issue in Debian SID, so it could be that it is an Ubuntu-specific one. So far, I haven't seen anyone else confirming this bug upstream in other distros (or indeed much activity since last February).
