Bug Description

Binary package hint: firefox

On a brand new KDE 8.04 with KDE 4, the default Firefox theme is so ugly that my users will not use it! Please include a more flattering theme for this otherwise terrific web browser. Thanks.

Thanks for reporting this issue and helping to make Kubuntu better.

I am not sure what exact theme you are referring to. Please provide the themename and versions for the appropriate packages.

Furthermore, taste is something that allows people to argue for a long time without coming to a conclusion. KDE offers additional themes that should be automatically installed. Furthermore, additional themes for both KDE and Firefox can be found on the Internet. Nothing stops you or your user to use such a theme that is more appreciated by your taste.

In addition, all our efforts are currently targeted to get KDE4 stable for the October release. Neither the KDE developer nor the Kubuntu developers have currently planned to fix anything but essential security problems in KDE3.

Thank you for your suggestion. However, the changes you are requesting aren't really a bug and require more discussion, which should be done on an appropriate mailing list or forum. http://www.ubuntu.com/support/community/mailinglists might be a good start for determining which mailing list to use. http://brainstorm.ubuntu.com is another good place to mention this.

I did mean KDE4, not 3. And while taste is most certainly subjective, see the attached screenshot where the default Firefox theme is seen on KDE4 in Kubuntu. The browser looks like Netscape Navigator 4.7.

The theme is 'default', as can be seen in the screenshot.

I am changing the status from Invalid to New as I have corrected the description to be relevant to KDE4. Additionally, I have changed the language to be more descriptive, and included a screenshot.

install firefox-3.0-gnome-support to make it prettier if you dont mind
all the gtk depends it needs. We dont have a *-kde-support package but
there are a few bugs on this already so im gonna close this. If i run
across those bugs ill mark it as dupe or just add the link to comments.
