Bug Description

Sometimes, when I am in the youtube website, and I click on a link to a user or to a video I get:
bradlee@bradlee-desktop:~$ firefox
**
** Gtk:ERROR:(/build/buildd/gtk+2.0-2.12.9/gtk/gtkplug.c:182):gtk_plug_set_is_child: assertion failed: (!GTK_WIDGET (plug)->parent)
Aborted (core dumped)

I cannot find the core file? I am not sure where to look.

Please update your system with update-manager or apt and tell me if this is still an issue with latest firefox-3.0 should be beta 5

Can you please also attach you plugin dir. (easiest way to do this is open a new bug and use help->report a bug from firefox menu) but it is fine if you can just attach the file to this bug report.

Can each of you please run an strace on this issue and attach the log file that strace makes.
Instructions on how to get an strace can be found here:

Ooops, my bad, I've linked my problem the the NukeAnythingEnhanced extension. Sorry about that.

Never mind, my problem is gone... For what it's worth, I ran in safe-mode, and firefox worked, then disabled a plugin which was most recently updated, and then enabled it again. Sorry my comments probably weren't particularly productive.

Same problem here when visiting meebo.com. I rm -rf'ed ~/.mozilla, apt-get remove --purge'd flashplugin-nonfree, started Firefox, visited YouTube to reinstall Flash, visited meebo.com, crashed. No extensions except for the default Ubuntu one. YouTube works fine. The strace is attached. Please note that there is no crash experienced when flashplugin-nonfree is not installed. Advice is welcome. If you need more output, just ask :)

I got the same problem but I cannot get a strace of it. When I enter the website that crashes FF and click a link I see that my CPU goes up to 100% and firefox becomes unresponsive. I let it be for a while but nothing happens (except for that the strace log grew to +100MB).

I was able to reproduce the problem though and this site also has flash.

I have the same problem on Kubuntu Hardy Heron, at

Firefox does not crash if flash is removed.

SOLUTION:
I had the same problem with some flash sites, I had flashplugin-nonfree 9.0.124.0ubuntu2 (hardy).
Installing adobe-flashplugin 10.0.12.36-1hardy2 solved the problem for me.
I hope it works for everyone!
