Bug Description

Binary package hint: firefox-2

I cannot print the page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bloomington,_Indiana. After invoking Print button on Print dialog (regardless into file or send to printer) the firefox crashes. The crash is reproducible on that page. On other pages Print works for me.

This is not the way to go. Please at least comment when confirming a

Yes, it's. I as wrote above I was able to reproduce on Ubuntu/7.10 as well
as my collage on Mac. Both on Firefox2.0.0.12.

I don't know. I haven't tried it yet.
Anyway, where is a download page for Firefox3 dev builds?

I tried to reproduce it just now it's still easy reproducible with this
particular page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bloomington,_Indiana when I
just invoke Print. Have you tried to reproduce on your configuration?

If you need some more for information from me, let me know I will be much
faster.

I missed to note my current version of Firefox. It's
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8.1.14) Gecko/20080418
Ubuntu/7.10 (gutsy) Firefox/2.0.0.14

Hope this helps.

Weird. I cannot. Printing to .ps file crashed my Firefox too.

I let you know how to works on Hardy/Firefox3

firefox 3 has seen lots of rewrites in the rendering engine ... but in
your case it could also be a plugin/extension issue. Anyway, try ffox
3 ... which is the future ;)

Alexander,

manipulating buig reports to be able to reject them - like changing a "confirmed" to "incomplete" is not an acceptable behavior. Please respect the work people are investing in verifying bugs,

Comment is optional on launchpad for good reason - if there is no more relevant information, there is no point polluting the bug report.

If you need more details, please ask a question. You should respect that people filing bug reports don't have deep technical knowledge, so please explain exactly what they have to do in order to get the information.

Confirmed in FireFox 3.04. Crash still happens multiple times per day for me and has me on the verge of using another browser. Usually have many tabs open.

Jason Hazlett, this bug concerns a problem printing one page only. Other websites pages print ok. Are you sure that your problem is this bug? I lodged a bug report on the print function crashing FF <a href="https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/firefox/+bug/291073">here</a>. Am currently looking for other similar bug reports so it may be marked as a duplicate soon. If so, please follow the link to the main bug page.

Hi,

It happens when I'm printing more than one page also. I get the print
dialog, make my selections, and then there is hesitation for a couple
seconds and then FF quits unexpectedly. I do have the Adblock Plus 1.0
extension installed. Perhaps that has been a factor. I am on FF 3.05 on Mac
OS X 10.4.11 and it happens less often, but seems more likely to be a memory
leakage issue that spooling the print job just "pushes it over the edge."

Best,
- Jason.

Printing the test page (in ps, pdf and to printer) works just fine, with no crash.

Recommending this bug to be marked as fixed.
