Bug Description
Just a few things opened (firefox and shell) started lagging a lot and then the laptop completely froze. I had to force the shutdown and the fans still sound too loud even when only firefox is opened.

Thanks for the bug report. It sounds like Firefox is the issue here, but to be sure please run 'top' in a Terminal window to confirm it is Firefox using all the CPU.
Also be careful to avoid having too many tabs open, because modern web browsers can easily use all the system resources if there are too many of them.
