Bug Description

Hello,

Since at least last year, Firefox from the Ubuntu package fails French accents that require a combination of keys like ê and ï.
However dead keys work on other programs like Thunderbird or Firefox binary from Mozilla.

I guess this issue happened after an update of the Firefox Ubuntu package, can you fix it?

Thanks.

Currently I am using Firefox 87.0 (64-bit) package from Lubuntu 20.04. My laptop is Dell XPS 13 Developer Edition, revision 2 (French keyboard).

I noticed that typing the character ` works but I still cannot type the French accents mentioned earlier.

The problem was fixed in about:config by changing the preference focusmanager.testmode from true to false and restarting Firefox. It looks like the preference was added when I tried to use a custom profile with Selenium WebDriver:
