Firefox freezes when trying to download a file

Bug Description
When I browse to a file in Firefox, it opens a popup asking me if I want to open it or download it. At this moment, Firefox starts using 100% CPU and freezes.
I started having this problem after a recent update.
It also happens with safe mode.
