Bug Description

I had many problems after upgrading to 18.04 from 16.04 LTE including sound play back, online web players etc. I thought fresh installation will solve the problem and fresh installation continues with the same problem.

Can you please describe the exact problem and how often it occurs?

Does sound sometimes work? Does sound never work?

I find some of the videos will have no sound and some will have. All are Mp4 videos. All these videos work well on windows 10. When I test the speakers the testing shows normal. When I play on line YouTube videos, there is no sound. Similarly if only online music or voice is played there is very low sound or no sound and it is Mozilla Firefox browser. On chrome web browser Videos will have no voice but with out videos that is normal voice or music is OK. Kindly note that when I test the sound the speakers are working fine with sound testing.

OK. It sounds like this bug should be assigned to the web browsers. We can log the bug against Firefox and Chromium here. But if you're using official Chrome then we can't log bugs about that here.

Please list the exact web browsers and video player apps that you have trouble with.

You have missed the point.
I am not able to play downloaded videos mp4 which are on the hard disk. Here kindly note some are plaing some are not playing . I could not sort out the reason. On windows 10 every thing is OK. It is dual boot system. Same thing happened when I upgraded from 16.04 LTE to 18.04 LTE. Then I made clean installation. The problem has not changed. I am not Linux expert, but using Ubuntu for more than 5 years.
