Firefox freezes when loading pages containing flash animations

Bug Description

This usually happens when the page (containing a flash animation) is fully
loaded. If I click on some link and scroll the existing page, instead of loading
another page (clicked from the link), firefox freezes (but NEVER crashes!) and
I have to force closing.

It runs normally without the flash plugin. I tried installing flash-nonfree, but
the same happens. All other applications work without problems.

I have ATI 9000PRO card with fglrx drivers that work just excellent! Ubuntu is
5.04 hoary.

The problem vanished once I configured ESD to work properly, although I NEVER
had any problem with the sound.
However, I still think that Flash should work out-of-the-box, without any tweaking.

Something like that happens to me too, when I click on back button or homepage button while viewing a flash included page, firefox freezes at all. That happens frequently. I've tested the same pages on w. xp, and nothing happened.
