Same here, xUbuntu 14.04, system is up-to-date.
Win7 (dualboot), firefox goes to sync normally

Marking this as "Invalid" as it seems the issue was only temporary and no comments for over two years.

If anyone still has an issue please re-open the bug by changing the status back to "New". Or better still open a new report with "ubuntu-bug firefox" in a terminal so that up-to-date system logs are attached to the report.
