Bug Description

I'm using Ubuntu 15.04 dev with firefox 34.0+build2-0ubuntu2 and if I'm going to the menu bar -> Edit -> Preferences -> General there stands "Firefox is not your default browser". But if I'm executing x-www-browser in a terminal Firefox does successfully start.

Ubuntu 14.04 is not affected.

I started firefox and set it to be default browser in the settings of firefox.
Important: The I close firefox!

If I start firefox from terminal by entering:
x-www-browser <some-url>

same with
gnome-www-browser <some-url>

and then check the firefox settings, firefox reports not to be the default browser.
