When debugging in Venkman, in Gnome-3 login, I found that after awhile it may lock up, not show changes to the window.
When a breakpoint is reached, the debugger doesn't show it, until I change the window size (I maximized and unmazimized, to update the window). I saw this in Firefox main window too.

There have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem may have been fixed with some of the updates.
