Firefox does not store the icon of a bookmark if the URL of the bookmark and the page differ on an ending backslash.
For example, if I have bookmarked http://www.wikipedia.org I will never get the Wikipedia icon in the bookmark.

However, the icon does become visible once the bookmark has been clicked (As of 2.x)
