Spammy? I think the number of posts (and duplicates of this bug) speak to how many people want to see this FIXED (and their frustration at the developer's stonewalling). This issue isn't going to go away just because you don't want to deal with it.

Answer me this: how much effort would it require to implement the desired change? If it's really a cost-benefit (dev time/effort vs. the number of people who want it fixed) analysis, then say so. I can accept that. I just find it hard to believe the developers really want to adhere to standards (at least their interpretation of them) as the reason this UI behavior can't be changed.

If you can't answer my comment #25 with a cogent argument against it, then tell us all what the real reason is for not addressing this concern?
