I'm happy because I thought that I'm alone.

[Precise] 12.04.1 LTS, firefox 15.0.1

Randomly occurs on launchpad pages here, affects navigation keys, no indications in log files like xsession-errors, syslog.

Example #1
Open a page in a tab, leave it, switch to another already open tab, read the content or type something for a while (more than 10 minutes), go back to the recent opened tab, scroll with arrow-keys or page-up -down - no reaction.

Example #2
Open a page in a new tab, press the end navigation key, the page moves as expected to the end of the page. Then press the arrow-up key for a short time in order to scroll up a bit, but instead the page moves all away to the beginning.

Example #3
Open a page in a new tab, tap for a short time on arrow-down key, it's expected that the page moves a bit down, but instead it moves all away to the end.
Then when using the arrow-up key it behaves as expected.

I've observed similar behavior in Firefox 16.0.2 on 12.10. Sometimes the up/down arrows and pageup/pagedown/home/end keys stop working in a particular tab. Those keystrokes work fine in other tabs in the same browser instance. Once the navigation keys stop working in a tab, it's possible for the functionality to return several minutes later. I am not sure what the trigger is to make the functionality return.

I can confirm this.
It occurs randomly and only in some single tabs. Sometimes the "Home"-key puts the view to any position, but not (as expected) to the beginning.

Page-Up and Page-Down keys are affected too.

Yes, you can close this very old issue, maybe already fixed.

Thanks for your reply Stéphane. Will mark as "Fix Released" as 11 people affected and comments stopped five years ago. This report and the duplicate suggest problem with Launchpad. All seems ok here with Ubuntu 18.04 and Firefox 61.

If anyone is still seeing a problem they should create a new bug report so that their own log files and version information are attached.
