With the latest Firefox update 14.0.1 I get a crash shortly after tapping Alt to activate the HUD.

To rule out one of your add-ons (such as LastPass) causing the problem, can you please see if the crash happens in Firefox's safe mode? Instructions can be found here:

It does not happen in a clean profile. I have found that it is related to
Firebug; if I disable Firebug it doesn't crash.

It happens on my similarly configured laptop at home as well.
