ubuntu 10.04 gtoo instabile to do a litte bit useful

distribution: ubuntu 10.04
there is no chnce to get a bug report out while ubuntu 10.04 is running because the instability of that system is too high to type only 3 words of the report without going the system is frozen so hard that not a single mouse or keyboard action will occure.

Tried;
1 upgrading system from 8.10 over 9.04 over 9.10 to 10.04:

at least exactly the same behavior as by installing directly from live cd to 10.4 on AMD64 using german language because keyboard settings to german required

- boot up and start either
- firefox (as installed without a single change
- Aktualisierungsverwaltung
- Synaptic

With firefox: no chance to get launchpad up and running to report this bug
With Aktualisierungverwaltung: system freeze when current list of packets is readed in - but system freeze while the screen gets rebuilded witthe the message 'packets readed' - no action possible
- with synaptic: selecting of a package is possible - but trying to install the package (regardless whatever!) letzt the system freese.

The only possibility to use the computer is "power off!". After reboot again not a single action is possible until the system freezes again.

I've tried 10.04 CD as released april 30.
again may 19.

With the releas from may there is the freeze a little, little bit later - the freeze occures not before the downloads of the available fixes to that releas is completed - but always before the install of them will start.

So ubuntu 10.04 is currently in a state that makes it useless for amything one may trying to use a computer.

However when there is a fixed releas available you may mail me so I can download the fixed release and try again.

When you may need something from me to help to get the system fixed you my mail me too. O.k., I'm far from to be an exert in linux and my english known as bad too. So, please be simple.
