can not find server

If the box is restarted a couple of times or, Firefox is closed (if it will respond) and the connection redialled, then it can come good. Messages about "Addons", when clicked, return a message about "none available".

Operating System is Ubuntu 9.10, installed from an official CD onto an Edubook LT02 from Norhtec. The same CD was used to load up an Acer Laptop and an old Tower; the same bugs with the same messages occurs on the three machines.
