Bug Description

Binary package hint: firefox-3.5

Certain websites do not load and I seem to be getting a lot of strange messages in the error console of firefox. For Example:

Warning: Error in parsing value for 'filter'. Declaration dropped.
Source File: https://launchpad.net/+icing/rev8939/combo.css
Line: 2

Warning: Error in parsing value for 'height'. Declaration dropped.
Source File: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/firefox-3.5/+filebug/s3vGNGEMfrfRSoyPgd2QJ5ZhF6u

and many others just like this.

ironically www.linux.org is one of the sites that dosen't work for me. I thought that it might have been down because a computer running XP could not access it for a while, but now it can. I was taking a linux tutorial on linux.org when this happened and it told me I could use the command: top to check which applications were taking up the most system resources. I notice that firefox was taking up about 20% of my memory and quite a bit of system resources(so my fan on the laptop was almost constantly running). So I got cute and installed elinks so I could use it for basic things like read linux tutorials so I can learn this stuff without asking too many questions on these forums.

linux.org stopped working in elinks first(along with yahoo mail-----error 9999 or something). I then tried firefox and yahoo AND linux.org did not work. Yahoo has started behaving itself (it works, but I still get similar messages in the error console) , but linux.org still doesn't work: Problem loading page and unable to connect with these error:

Warning: Unknown property 'zoom'. Declaration dropped.

When I ping linux.org from the terminal it seems to work:
