Flash Video is not Smooth

Ubuntu 9.10

Using Firefox 3.5 OR the Hulu Desktop app. Videos do not play smoothly in fullscreen. I recently reformatted this machine from Windows 7. Had zero problems with windows. This is a home theatre pc, I really expected more out of ubuntu.
