FF becomes unresponsive changing tabs

Binary package hint: firefox-3.5

Had three tabs open - tab three highlited and showing contents in screen. Click on one of the other tabs (one or two) - that tab highlites and the web address changes but the screen stays unchanged (screen for tab three). Can select either of the other two but the screen stays on tab three.
