Perhaps not everyone, but a considerable number.

Fascinating - I would think that there are just as many Windows and OSX users
who mess with about:config as well!

Which is precisely why I will now take either attachment 161088 or 161279 - if
you'll check my latest build of TBP, 0.9.90, you'll see that in the Tab Focus
section of the Tabbed Browsing panel of the Preferences dialog has the following
checkbox (the panel is created by TBP, which suppresses the original UI):

"Load windows diverted into tabs in the background"

Everybody wins - the default UI is OK, the strings don't need munging, and if I
create the pref on install with a default of 'false', then the original meaning
of browser.tabs.loadInBackground is preserved.

If I may say so, Mr. Goodger, take your pick.
