Firefox started uncontrolable multiple loads of my home page.

Binary package hint: firefox-3.5

Ubuntu 9.10,firefox 3.5 - Fresh install -
During normal browsing with around (3) tabs open firefox started loading the first tab (home page tbo.com) multiple times.
The only way to recover was thru terminal and kill the app.After restart of firefox it had loaded approx 15 occurrences of the home page in 15 separate tabs.
