Bug Description

Binary package hint: mozilla-firefox

After updating Ubuntu from Jaunty to Karmic the font-rendering in Firefox 3.5.3 is very ugly. The fonts are very "thin", not like before the update.

The problem I get only after an update. By a new installation in a VM this won't happend.

Here is a screen which describe this problem better:

I've found a Workaround for this problem. Just rename the hidden file .font.config (may .font.config.bak) in your home folder. reloggin to Ubuntu and start Firefox again.

With this the problem is solved for me. But why is it not active after a update? I attached the font.config for analysing
