Bug Description
Binary package hint: firefox-3.5
When trying to load gmx.com in FF 3.5 (Shiretoko) in Ubuntu 9.04 a banner appears at the top of the screen stating "To take full advantage of GMX we recommend dowloading Internet Explorer 7, Firefox 3 or Safari 3." When trying to log in, a similar message appears and log in is denied. This problem does not occur in FF 3.0, also installed on my system.
I've reported this to staff at gmx.com who state that they have no problems using the site with FF 3.5. (I can provide relevant correspondence if desired). Since they can use the site with FF 3.5 (they did not specify a platform) and I'm am able to with 3.0 on Ubuntu, it seems as though the problem _may_ be with the packaging of FF 3.5 on Ubuntu. Perhaps something to do with the user agent?

It is indeed the user agent. You can try user-agent-switcher and let them know to check for the Gecko version and not the string Firefox.
