Bug Description
Binary package hint: firefox
I am running 6.10 after upgrading from 6.06LTS.
These are the steps I did though I think any results which launch Firefox will fail as well.
1. Ensure Firefox is not running.
2. Perform a search and select wikipedia.
3. Close Firefox.
4. Try to launch firefox or performing another search gives the dialog stating that another Firefox is already running and you must close it first.
Apologies if this has already been reported or if I haven't given suffient information and Im still kind a new to ubuntu ( and linux ).
Thank you

Sorry. I managed to reproduce this three times yesterday but am unable to repeat it now.

I can confirm that this bug still affects Ubuntu Intrepid (8.10).
My reproduce:
1. Need to have package "firefox" and "deluge-torrent".
2. Download any torrent and select open with "deluge-torrent" from within Firefox.
3. Close Firefox.
4. Start Firefox.
Error: "Firefox is still running."
Fix: Kill firefox. Then run it again.
Process order in "gnome- system- monitor" :
firefox
-> deluge
-> -> xdg-open
From what I can understand, Firefox keeps running because the system (or Firefox) thinks something is dependent of it still running so it doesn't close the "engine" even though the GUI has been closed.
