System updated Firefox to 3.0.15. Now, it is slow to open and has remnants of the desktop embedded the the browser or black space where graphics should be.

When I open Firefox 3.0.15, it is very slow to open and has a portion of the desktop embedded in the left side of it. Also, there may or may not be black boxes where graphics should be in the body of the browser.
