Bug Description

Binary package hint: firefox-3.0

Being not that computer-savvy, Jane had John install Ubuntu on her new laptop. So far she likes it, but recently encountered a problem when surfing on the web: a friend had told her about "Podcasts" so she went to her favorite radio station and clicked the orange icon next to where it said "subscribe to podcast". She then was presented with a page asking her whether she wanted to subscribe using "Dynamic Bookmarks" or with a different application instead. Since Jane uses Rhythmbox for listening to music, she figured that would be the correct application. Unfortunately the "select application" button only gave her a file chooser with a list of many confusing files in it. Frustrated, she decided to wait until John would visit her again. To make things worse, the same long and confusing list came up again when Jane tried to "Open with..." a "CHM" file later that day. Since Jane knows how to select the default application for opening files of specific types in the file manager, she's asking herself why Firefox can't use the same easy-to-understand method used in the file manager.
