Bug Description

Binary package hint: firefox-3.0

Firefox has a memory leak that is in conjunction with the images the browser loads. The more images the browser views the more memory the browser holds onto. The real problem is the browser will not *let go* of the memory usage when a tab is closed. Yes, I know I can shut down Firefox and clean out the memory usage, but the software should be more efficient.

It is a minor issue but I would hope that it is resolved one day. I am guessing the software could clean out the image cached when a tab is closed.

Maybe you'll want to update to Firefox 3.5.1 from Mozilla official site. It's faster with more features, no problems in Jaunty.
