flash installed but not working

Binary package hint: firefox-3.0

I've installed the flash player 10 following the web instructions but it doesn't work.
in 'about:plugins' doesn't appear but when i try to install it from the web again it says 'it's already installed' then i tried to go back to flash player 9, but there's no use either.
In synaptic it says its installed as well.
