Bug Description

Binary package hint: firefox-3.0

I have firefox 3 in an Ubuntu 8.10 operating system. I have downoladed a number of add-ons and everything was fine until yesterday when firefox settings changed. In particular

the address bar shows only the generic address of the website I am visiting (i.e. wherever I navigate in mozilla.com it shows only mozilla.com with no specifications like /forum or other) this makes also impossible to press the back button or reload; before that when typing an address, firefox detected it from the history of the bookmarks, which is not the case anymore

In addition, when I open a new tab with the ctrl+t command, the new tab shows the address of the latest one

Now, I have disabled almost all add-ons, removed and reinstalled firefox and the problem remains...
Anyone who could help?

Thank you
Abel
