Firefox error- "your browser has been updated and needs to be restarted" appears with every web page.

Bug Description

I restart the application, but it doesn't help. Even after restarting the application and system several times, the issue still exists.

Also, when I chk the version under "About", the version is firefox-3.0.8; however, this site suggests that it doesn't exist in Ubuntu!!!
