I have the same problem on Jaunty x86_64 with Firefox 3.0.10.

If you want more info I'd be happy to provide it.

This feature is working now on my computer. It is possible that this has been fixed in the latest release, or that it was actually a bug in one of my Firefox extensions that has since been fixed.

In any case, I recommend this bug be closed.

Search bar is broken since upgrade to Jaunty. AMD64 duo core MSI motherboard
If I click the magnifying glass with the grayed out 'Google' in the search window, it takes me to Google.
If I put a search string in the same window and click the icon, nothing happens.
I am seeing errors in the log like;
'Exception..."invalid file header in signons file..'
and
storage is null
and
Permisiion is denied to call method Location.toString
