Firefox links blinking on rollover (version 3.05-1.0, Jaunty)

Hello, I'm using an up-to-date version of Firefox in Jaunty and I get this bug :
when my cursor is on a link in Firefox, the link blinks all the time the cursor is on it, like I was getting the cursor out of it and then back on it again, rapidly. So I don't have the time neither to read any tip, nor to read what is in the status bar, and the results on rollover-effects using sites are ugly, and make them sometimes unusable.
However, clicking on the link works well and the bug is not present in any plugin (flash...), just on normal links.

Hello. Can you provide a little more information?

Does this happen on all websites, or just some? If just some, please provide a link.

What kind of blinking is it. Is the link becoming invisible (completely hidden), or is the text going to a different size and changing back?

Please also look at tools, addons and say what skin and extensions you are using.

There is more information :
It happens on all websites.
I'm using the default firefox skin (no skins installed), flashplugin-nonfree (however the problem appears even when there is no flash content on the page), totem and VLC plugins are also installed, as well as FoxyProxy, the only extension I've installed.

It seems somewhat random.
Half of the time, when the cursor comes over a link, the link passes in its rollover state, (blue underlined by default) for about ten milliseconds and then returns to its normal state and stays so, like if the cursor was not on it, until I get the cursor out of it and then back on it, what causes the phenomenon to repeat.
The other half of the time, when the cursor is over a link, the links "blinks" : the phenomenon I've described repeats rapidly and indefinitely while the cursor is on the link.

Compiz is disabled (no effects), and gnome uses the theme "glossy".
