Bug Description

When I use the (Compiz Fusion) effects in Ubuntu 8.10 I get Firefox only full screen as you can see on the picture below:
http://img518.imageshack.us/my.php?image=schermafdruk2mo7.png

When I click 2 times on F11 the screen is normal again.
I had this problem since yesterday but I also had the problem sometimes with Ubuntu 8.04.

I work with Ubuntu 8.10 (64 bit) and a ATI Radeon HD 3850 videocard.

I had a problem like this but found that Firefox window had resized to a size larger than the screen resolution display. I was able to grab the title bar and pull firefox away from the top of the screen and then resize the window to someting much smaller. Good luck.

I think the first ati driver isn't perfect but its a great improvement for my system and i'm sure they'll be upgrades soon (fingers crossed)

Jay, I have the exact same problem, it is so frustrating, I went through Compiz 100 times,...
Anyway I run LinuxMint and thanks for the tip on F11 twice ;o)
When could a fix be expected?

Changed in firefox-3.0:

I'm using the Ati driver from
System - Administration - Hardware Drivers
Compiz is now working (on the middle setting)
I also went into a terminal console
Applications - Accessories - Terminal
and typed
gstreamer-properties
the predictive text function on the Tab key helps ;)
In the pop-up box, on the "Video" tab i changed the Output to the one that says "... (no Xv)" and suddenly everything got a lot smoother in multimedia (movies)
