Same problem here, I noticed that if I switch to fullscreen and back again (using the F11 key) the titlebar and panels reappear, but only for a minute or so, then they dissapear again.

same here. i found if you press f11 twice in succession, the bar comes back (found that on another linux forum). this has only been a problem in ff3 on ubuntu 8.1. i was running ff3 on ubuntu 8.04 without issue

Thats right, but pressing f11 dont fix at all the bug on the status bar in firefox.

I found a fix, first go to system , then preference and then compiz setting manager go there to windows decoration option and unchek restart your pc do the same to go compiz setting manager and check back windows decoration. at the end set your checks as the pic attached, then restart one last time and done. That fix for my switches taps an firefox status bar bugs, I hope this help.

Another workaround is to delete the following file (backup first):
~/.mozilla/firefox/<PROFILE ID>/localstore.rdf
This sets the firefox icons arrangement back to default. Pressing F11 and then mini- and maximizing the window was only a temporary fix for me, so I had it to do this way.

So far all I have are temp fixes. Right now the window is not sized correctly.
