Bug Description

I've just upgraded from hardy to intrepid. I have a saved bookmark to a samba share which I open in Nautilus by selecting it from the Places menu in the main Ubuntu menu. Nautilus then displays the path and all its files/directories as expected. If I double click a .html file from amongst these files my running copy of Firefox opens a new blank tab and does nothing else. Firefox's location bar is blank, and no contents are displayed. If I right-click the file and select open with gvim or gedit, it opens correctly. If I copy the very same file to my desktop and double-click it there, Firefox opens it correctly.

This functionality worked with hardy but no longer works in intrepid.

It may be related that if I try and open the file in OpenOffice, I am prompted for authentication. This was also the case with hardy, but opening in Firefox always used to work without any prompt.
