Please, try to run firefox using a clean profile in order to see if the problem comes from one of your extension: firefox -safe-mode

It your problem still occurs, try to obtain a backtrace by following the instructions on https://wiki.ubuntu.com/MozillaTeam/Bugs and http://live.gnome.org/GettingTraces/Details.

Set to incomplete until we have more a backtrace or more info.

Doru, yes, this bug will often happen when Firefox is already open.

I am also confirming the Doru's report, Apport says the error occured but firefox never closed but in fact had just opened. I had just opened the NinjaVideo.net applet before the error occured [might be related].

I confirm the report.

Ruben, thanks for submitting your backtrace! However, it is missing debug symbols. Did you install the *-dbgsym packages as listed on the Mozilla Bugs page? https://wiki.ubuntu.com/MozillaTeam/Bugs#Crashes If so, let us know; we may need to install some others that are causing this crash.

Can anyone else also provide a backtrace so we can compare them?

maybe its the "remote client" crashing here. please do the following
in a terminal:

 env > /tmp/env.txt

and attach /tmp/env.txt to this bug.

I've install the debug symbols (don't know if there are all of them, I have no complain).
The crash occured when a Firefox session is already open and I follow an external link
from Update manager to read about a bug report.
It is like the link try to open a new firefox session but the system already has a firefox
session open. Maybe the external link should check first if a firefox session is already open.
I attach the dbg report (don't know if is complete).
