Bug Description

This feed <http://feeds.launchpad.net/bzr/revisions.atom> appears empty when viewed as a live bookmark in firefox (from intrepid). I can see content when I look at it with curl and it does pass feedvalidator.

Please include the full About information, along with a list of
installed plugins.

It might also be worth trying this with a new, blank profile.

I get the problem with a blank profile and this version of firefox:

I've just spent over an hour trying to get more information on this. Firefox doesn't report any errors, I can't find any bugs in their tracker, nor pages with similar problems via google search. strace, wireshark and lsof don't provide any help either -- although I don't really know what I'm looking for.

I tried saving the contents of that file to
<http://people.ubuntu.com/~mbp/revisions.atom>, and it reproduces the
same problem. I also cut out most of the diff content in
<http://people.ubuntu.com/~mbp/revisions2.atom> and it still has
trouble.

<http://feedvalidator.org/check.cgi?url=http%3A%2F%2Fpeople.ubuntu.com%2F~mbp%2Frevisions.atom>
says it's valid.

So it looks like this is a firefox bug we might need to work around.

I did the same thing and got the same results.

Still works fine for me with:

http://feeds.edge.launchpad.net/bzr/revisions.atom
http://feeds.edge.launchpad.net/bzr-loom/revisions.atom

Both showed for me fine.

Here's a very strange thing: firefox on Jaunty can show the contents of the feed when I click on it, but shows nothing inside the live bookmark. (It shows "loading" but then nothing in the list.)

This is roughly the behaviour I see on Intrepid, except for the "loading".

How is this any stranger than the OP?

I hadn't previously realized that firefox could parse the content enough to show it in the body of the window.

This should be fixed in Launchpad since it is the only feeds mentioned in this bug as not working. It also seems as if they are working on it.

@gnomefreak, please be more cautious in trying to triage bugs for other people.

We don't know yet whether the bug is in firefox or in Launchpad. It is plausible that it could be either of them. Until it's localized, let's leave it open in both.

Confirmed this in FF 3.0 3.0.10.
This feed will not load in Live Bookmarks.
I checked and this feed is valid Atom 1.0.
The thing is I also checked this feed:
http://alexharden.org/blog/atom.xml
Which is also valid Atom 1.0 with a few compatability suggestions. It loads fine in Live Bookmarks.

Also, Launchpad has been having some issues with loading pages lately, so I downloaded the atom feed and tried it locally. It still did not load.
It's valid Atom 1.0 with a few problems
