Bug Description

Binary package hint: firefox-3.0

When starting firefox, it will delay for (on timed-average) 3 minutes. When it loads, it is responsive until user attempts to use firefox; change URL, click on homepage link, etc. The delay is slightly less than 3 minutes. Many attempts to reinstall, uninstall and install, and firefox deletions have not fixed this issue.

Here are the specs to my desktop where issue occurs:
Linux 2.6.24-21-generic running KDE 3.5.9, CPU: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.20GHz at 3216 MHz (6432 bogomips), HD: 722/1232GB, RAM: 2472/3035MB.
This does not happen on my two other laptops (HP and Dell).
All 3 running Kubuntu 8.04 with all updates applied.

firefox-3.0:
  Installed: 3.0.1+build1+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.8.04.3
  Candidate: 3.0.1+build1+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.8.04.3

Hello

Do you have the same problem using the firefox binary provided by mozilla ? (for example on mozilla.com)

Yes. Many things have failed and I'm unable to pinpoint the cause. This may or may not be related, but as of today, August 16, 2008, Thunderbird is also having a delay and non-responsive issue.

Nevermind. Thunderbird had a glitch. I am stripping away all plugins that I had for firefox and Thunderbird. The only extension I have is for Thunderbird; Lightning.
