Bug Description

I'm using Hardy Heron RC1, updated daily.

Google gmail on Firefox3 beta 5 is crashing Firefox when I compose a mail. Sometimes it's immediately on pressing Compose, sometimes on pressing another button.

Sometimes it's freezing, rather than crashing completely. Seems more likely to happen when there are tabs open. But that might just be thatI almost always have tabs open.

I haven't done a thourough investigation to see what triggers it. Let's see if it's a general problem first.

I think I've done this successfully before, so it's likely down to a change...

Problem solved;

Now I use http://developer.songbirdnest.com/nightly/builds/linux/i686/Songbird_0.6pre_20080501_linux-i686.tar.gz
better browser and player.

Work no crash "any flash, youtube, gmail, etc" work totem plugins, work java without no problem,
and work all perfect on ubuntu hardy.

Addo'ns firefox don't work, addon's for Songbird work 100%.

Tested 100% all browser in ubuntu hardy final,
and I liked Songbird for use multimedia Browser, bank, and others without erros.

Erros ubuntu hardy: all iceweasel, all swiftweasel, all firefox, minefield, and all others based on mozilla,
i approvad only Songbird.

Same here. FF3b2 and b3 were pretty stable, b4 and b5 have been horrendous with Gmail and other AJAX-heavy sites. I find that Firefox tends to crash mainly when I'm working with multiple tabs: for example when I'm loading one tab and closing another simultaneously - particularly if Gmail is open on a third tab. This behaviour is unacceptable. I crash around 10 times a day, and I'm switching to Epiphany until this is sorted out.

I've been seeing frequent crashes on gMail and eBay. They seem random, but commonly occur on page load, with multiple tabs open. I attached gdb to the running process and got a backtrace but despite having firefox-3.0-dbgsym libc6-dbgsym libmozjs0d-dbgsym libxul0d-dbgsym installed, I still don't seem to get any decent output. Please advise which sets of symbols I need to install to get good trace and I'll do a repro.

Same issue here.
It seems to happen more often when I manually close gmail or ebay tab.

Firefox's performance for me has actually been getting worse and worse. Now I'm having trouble with Epiphany as well now, which is disconcerting... I'm doing a clean wipe on my 2nd partition to try this over again. Hoorah for having your home dir on a separate partition...

Evewryone seeeing this problem please file a separate bug report and attach a backtrace to the new bug report. We can only handle one crash per bug report since we can not determine what caused your crash, just because its the same site doesnt mean its the same crash.

instructiions on how to obtain a backtrace can be found at: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/MozillaTeam/Bugs

Jeff can you please attach a backtrace to this report see link above oh how to obtain a backtrace.
