I'm using Kubuntu Hardy with a wireless network. Firefox always starts offline for me too. It's really annoying. There should be a way to disable this "smart" "feature".

(Kind of) replicated on ubuntu hardy with wireless. Firefox 3 will start in offline mode even though internet is connected (verified through ping command in terminal). Firefox 3 will stay in offline mode until I close it, open firefox 2, close firefox 2 and reopen firefox 3. When firefox 3 reopens, it does so with the "welcome to ubuntu 8.04" tab open.
