Bug Description

Binary package hint: firefox-3.0

Before hardy is released, the program version should be removed from the titlebar (and also from the .desktop file).

This is by design. Mozilla adds the version at each milestone. This is for betas only.

Well that Mozilla does that does not prevent ubuntu from fixing it. Hardy probably isn't going to ship with 3.0 final, so it should be changed in the beta version. This is one of the most prominent and most used programs ubuntu ships. It would be very strange if it unlike any other program, has its version number in the title bar.

Hardy will have final 3.0 in the sources shortly after release, this is a security release and shouldnt have a problem getting it into final Hardy. If we are keeping firefox-2 in Hardy repos than removing the version from title bar may not be best since it gives users an easy way to detect version they are using. This fix will be in Hardy but not until 3.0 is final.
