This screenshot shows how a gnome app (epiphany) follows the standard colours for selected text (black text on blue background) while firefox doesn't (blue text on black background).

I'm using FF3.0 on Jaunty, and the URL bar still shows non-standard colours.

Just add the following code at the bottom your userChrome.css file:

#urlbar { background-color: #00FF00 !important; }

It doesn't meter which color you will specify, FF still will use Gnome settings, but know properly.
------

So, now I have a question: if I specify background color for address bar FF will use Gnome settings. How can I change FF background color for address bar without changing Gnome theme color settings? Why it doesn't work thought userCrome.css?
