Bug Description

file --help claims -L is the default, but it isn't.

$ file --help
  [snip]
  -L, --dereference follow symlinks (default)

$ file /usr/lib/libgnome-2.so
/usr/lib/libgnome-2.so: symbolic link to `libgnome-2.so.0.3200.1'

$ file -L /usr/lib/libgnome-2.so
/usr/lib/libgnome-2.so: ELF 64-bit LSB shared object, x86-64, version 1 (SYSV), dynamically linked, stripped
