Bug Description

Binary package hint: file-roller

Feature-request:

File-roller should get the possibility to create a directory based on the archives filename.

E.G.: The archive with the name "foo.bar.baz.zip" has the following contents (not in a subdirectory):
blafile1.mp3
blafile2.mp3
blafile3.mp3

So there should be a possibility to create a folder called "foo.bar.baz/" - Right now there seems to be no way to achieve this apart from typing the folder name ourselves.

I tried to find this feature on Ubuntu 8.04, 8.10 and 9.04, none of them had a file-roller which had that feature.

Thank you for your bug report. The ubuntu team doesn't have the ressources to work on this specific issue but it would be nice if somebody having it could send the bug the to the people writting the software (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Upstream/GNOME)

Changed in file-roller (Ubuntu):
