Bug Description
Right after upgrading to 12.04, the display manager failed to start. This turned out to be due to a crash of /usr/bin/X.
I've downloaded the latest driver from AMD's website amd-driver-
I deleted all nvidia drivers which got loaded automatically.
The Xorg.0.log shows more info. I am assuming this file is included in the problem report.
By the way, installation of the ATI driver did not finish successfully. Not sure if this has anything to do with the crash. Please let me know if more details on this failed installation are required for debugging.

Before booting, disconnecting the wireless USB mouse and keyboard (comes with Packard Bell OneTwo), X boots up without problems.
When I connect the Chicony USB Wireless HID receiver X crashes immediately. This is consistently reproducible.
