Bug Description
X crashes whenever I try to watch a video in Totem, VLC or wherever. I realized this has to do with the acceleration and never happened before a couple of weeks ago with some recent updates in Precise, which leads me to think it isn't an issue specifically with the proprietary driver. I disabled the overlay accelerated video in VLC and it didn't crash. Basically I am put back in the login screen instantly. This was with the default fglrx driver that Ubuntu installs as well as the newer drivers from AMD.
