Bug Description
I am testing Ubuntu 12.04 Alpha 2 on the ThinkPad E525.
I am using the latest version of Catalyst (installed via jockey).
I have a laptop screen (1366x768) and an LCD Panel (1920x1080) connected via HDMI.
In the open source driver, it is possible to configure a multi monitor display, where the two desktops are separate. With Catalyst this is not possible in the latest version of Unity.
I'm not sure whether this is a unity problem or an upstream problem with fglrx. Presumably the latter will need to support whatever changes are made for the final 12.04?
Let me know if there's any info I can gather on this.
It's a pure Catalyst problem. The FGLRX driver powers the X server, which powers Unity. Unity doesn't have to deal with those internals of the system, it just draws a shell and updates it as needed (i.e. when a new monitor is added or removed), but it doesn't have anything to do with the monitor configuration itself.
